Medical Herbalist
I am a qualified medical herbalist with a lifelong fascination with plants. After studying horticulture, I worked as a grower on a medicinal herb nursery and an organic herb farm, which inspired a deep passion for herbal medicine.
I undertook a year’s correspondence course in herbal medicine with the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine. I then went on to train as a medical herbalist with Betonica School of Herbal Medicine for four years, graduating with distinction.
My in depth training covered studies of Materia medica, botany, pathology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, nutrition and over 500 hours of clinical training.
I am passionate about researching and studying the latest findings in herbal medicine and was awarded the ‘Aeon Excellence in Writing Award’ in 2024 for a research project that explored herbal medicine and osteoarthritis.
As a member of the professional body, The National Institute of Medical Herbalists’ I follow strict ethical standards in my practice and undertake regular continuing professional development.
I am dedicated to treating patients with herbs, whether it be a chronic condition or a short-term illness. I aim to restore emotional well-being and physical health by providing confidential, in-depth consultations where patients are deeply listened to.
In addition to treating patients, one of my favourite things to do is teach and pass on herbal knowledge. Through my guided herb walks and hands-on practical workshops, I help people connect with plant medicine, gain practical knowledge and empower them to use herbs safely at home. I teach on the professional herbal medicine diploma at Betonica School of Herbal Medicine.
I am a passionate organic gardener and grow a number of medicinal herbs, some of which are processed into my own tinctures, creams and syrups.
